Carpets
Carpet is used in 97% of UK homes. It has all kinds of benefits that we take for granted.
CHOICE: 100’s of colours, textures and designs.
LUXURY: Soft, comfortable and cosy.
SOUND: Quiet underfoot, carpet absorbs sound.
SAFETY: Carpet loves feet, soft, forgiving, non slip and child friendly.
INSULATION: Without carpet 15% of all household heat disappears through the floor.
DURABILITY: Carpet is practical, hard wearing and resilient. Especially taking into account the punishment it takes in daily use.
TROUBLE FREE MAINTENANCE: Easy to clean, all you need to do is give it a regular vacuum.
HEALTH & HYGIENE: Scientific evidence shows carpet is the healthy option, even for those with allergies or asthma. Carpet acts as a sponge, trapping airborne dust, the catalyst for so many respiratory allergies, until you vacuum it away.
VALUE FOR MONEY: When compared to other consumer durables and fashion accessories.
Wool Carpets
Wool is an excellent natural fibre that offers superb resilience to wear and general soiling. Textured wool carpets can make the floor a real feature, adding the contemporary look of a modern flooring, but with the warmth and comfort of wool.
Wool Mix Carpets
With a mix of 80% wool and 20% man-made fibres, wool mix carpets offer the texture of wool, with a great resilience to stain and wear.
Man-made Carpets
The two main types are nylon (polyamide) and polypropylene (olefin). Occasionally you will see polyester though more often as part of an overall mix. Nylon is the most popular, but polypropylene is the most stain resistant.
